Like the pattern on the Karen Walker clutch (above left), snapped on icy streets during New York Fashion Week, the new motif introduced recently by Po Campo bike bags evokes spring.
Po Campo’s exclusive pattern, Petals, riffs on the popular perennial, the African violet. The maker of bike bags for commuting and casual riding around town teamed with Gloria Urech of the UK’s Gukuuki Studio, creators of contemporary prints based on inspiration from art and culture. Working closely with Po Campo’s founder Maria Boustead, Urech rendered Petals in a water-color style with a scatter of blossoms.
Printed on vegan, weatherproof fabric with reflective accents, Petals is available on three Po Campo styles: The Six Corners Handlebar Bag, above left ($40), the Logan Bike Trunk Bag ($80) and a new accessory, a Bifold Wallet ($35), below. All come with detachable shoulder or wrist straps for carrying convenience and easy transitions to off-bike wear.
And, since the African violet is associated with the maternal, it’s not too early to shop for Mother’s Day.
