Bicycle with Daffodils

velojoy street scene

On a bike ride on Manhattan’s Upper West Side this week, I spotted this sign of spring at the base of the landmark Soliders’ and Sailors’ Memorial Monument at Riverside Drive and 89th Street. With unseasonably warm temperatures in February, it’s easy to understand how these daffodils might have been lured into an early bloom.

Now is a good time to shop your neighborhood bike shop for end-of season sales on cold-weather cycling apparel and accessories. Buy it now and, in addition to getting some wear out of your purchases this year, you’ll be set for next winter. We’ve seen 40 percent mark-downs at some stores.

And, if you’re a Rapha fan, you can save 50 percent online this weekend, Feb. 24 – 26, on their women’s apparel. It’s Rapha’s annual Festa della Donna celebration of women’s cycling.
