Martone Cycling Company is back on Broadway! The maker of stylish city bicycles with signature red chains has opened its first retail outlet. It’s a pop-up in Manhattan’s Theater District at the Paramount Hotel — the same venue where Lorenzo Martone launched his eponymous brand with a high-profile party a year ago.
You’ll find the store, with its plate glass facade decorated in bold bicycle chain graphics, at street level just to the west of the Paramount’s entrance. A sleek, modern interior design provides the backdrop for displaying the distinctively designed collection of Martone Cycling bikes for men and women including a new e-bike (stay tuned for a ride report in April), as well as branded accessories such as helmets, locks, lights and water bottles.
Also fun to browse: Marton’s elegant bicycle-themed jewelry line and apparel collaborations with Cleverhood rain capes in exclusive colors (below) and Ron Dorff anagram Ts and sweatshirts. Artwork, bags and iPhone cases featuring the illustrations of Justin Teodoro round out the shopping fun.
With the winter freeze finally subsiding, shoppers are invited to take the bikes for test-rides in the neighborhood. The pop-up is open Tuesday through Sunday from 1 – 8 p.m. through April 20 at 235 West 46th Street (between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).
