Outlier, the Brooklyn-based urban active wear maker, continues to expand their women’s collection. The company last week introduced two versatile new winter pieces adapted from their men’s line but cut for women.
The Women’s Doublefine Merino Cardigan with a classic shawl collar and two front pockets offers the warmth, moisture management and anti-odor properties of wool in a go-anywhere, tailored silhouette that teams easily with jeans, leggings or slacks. It comes in black, deep gray and medium gray. Price: $240.
The Women’s Air Forged Vest, a cool-weather layering piece, is constructed of three types of insulation for warmth without bulk: Cozy Merino wool on the inside, nylon with the feel of cotton on the outside (finished with a treatment that helps protect against moisture and grit) and Primaloft in between. In addition to the two in the front, there’s an angled rear pocket on the back for stowing essentials on the go. The vest comes in blue-tint gray and light gray. Price: $240.
Small tweaks to the women’s designs include magnetic closures on the front pockets of the vest and welted flaps on the women’s cardigan pockets.
In addition there are new color options to choose from in the Women’s 60/30 Chino Pant.
Outlier, known among cyclists for their Daily Riding Pant for men and women; the “pivot” shoulder detail meant to enhance freedom of movement in their tailored shirts; and innovative, limited-edition experimental designs — added a number of women-specific pieces last summer, including shorts and tank tops.
