Not long ago, we profiled NYC bicycle commuter Diane Randall, who returned to cycling as an adult because she wanted to explore the city that she loves from a different perspective. Although she started off with a new mountain bike, a recently re-discovered photograph led her back to the Raleigh that she had received for Christmas from her parents more than 2 decades ago, and that she had kept in storage.  It just goes to show that the joy of receiving a bicycle as a gift is lasting, and it isn’t just for kids. In that spirit, we’ve posted 8 city bicycles that are sure to delight their grown-up recipients as they pedal into the new year. For easy shopping, each slide below includes a link to the manufacturer and the name of an NYC bicycle shop that carries the brand.
