What a joy it was to join cyclists from the U.S. and Canada on the runway in the “City Style” fashion show presented by Momentum Magazine in the Urban Yard of the Interbike cycling expo in Las Vegas.
The 25-minute event, with 30 looks assembled by Momentum style editor Molly Millar, and coordinated by publisher Mia Kohout, was a vibrant celebration of the growing popularity of city cycling. It blended the newest cycling-specific apparel and accessories with the latest city bikes, from Dutchies to folders. The looks drew inspiration from cycling culture in 17 major cities — including New York — throughout North America. To the beat of DJ Miss Dust, models-on-bikes extended the runway into the cheering audience (right) by riding off the stage and around an oval track.
Special thanks to bike wrangler Kris Olmon, who was there to catch us backstage when we exited the ramp!
