I can’t pass up a shop window with a bicycle in it — especially when its message encourages people to “Ride On!” So I pulled over yesterday at Fishs Eddy, the Manhattan purveyor of vintage-inspired crockery and glassware at 19th Street and Broadway, to check out this display of mugs. They’re adorned with graphics by Taliah Lempert, the New York City-based artist known for capturing the nuances of bicycle design in her custom paintings, as well as for her line of cycling-themed prints, T-shirts and note cards.
With generous 15-ounce capacities and wide mouths, these mugs are perfect for coffee, tea or soup (cold gazpacho!) I could also see filling one with candy from Dylan’s or a coffee card as a gift for a friend who loves to ride.
