The launch celebration of the Rapha Cycle Club NYC at 352 Bowery drew a full house of cycling enthusiasts on Thursday night. The pop-up shop, the London-based design firm’s first U.S. outpost, opens officially on Saturday — just in time for Tour de France fans to view the 8.9-km Rotterdam Prologue on the store’s flat-screen TVs.
Encouraging community around a passion for cycling is central to the Cycle Club idea, says Slate Olson, Rapha’s general manger. In addition to Rapha apparel and accessories, visitors will find a cafe; a photo gallery; displays of classic cycling memorabilia; and a summer program of special events including film screenings, book signings and presentations of new collections.
So pop in and stay a while at this hospitable pop-up, which will be open every day from 8 am to 8 pm through Sept. 30. [Photos: velojoy]
